Another year of weekend after weekend chasing race cars throughout the state’s various tracks and events has Started. And what an Event to Kick it all Off with.
The two day Hill Climb on the 17% grade hill held over the weekend of 31st March and April 1st had great weather for both days for once, (Usually it rains throughout at least one of the days…), and as usual, the Field of 150 Competitors was ready and rearing to go, and put on a great show.
The Weekend did claim some scalps to add to its trophy Cabinet, none bigger than the huge rollover and fire in the Top 12 on Sunday afternoon. While the Driver of the ill fated GTR SKyline walked away, the car itself did not Fare so well.
Kevin Mackrell was once again in fine form, breaking his own record time and time again in his crazy 4WD, V8 Powered Datsun 260z. The car was sporting a new aero kit, and a new paint scheme, but still had its crazy sound, and wicked speed.
